How Combat Works :
The first thing that needs to be determined is which parties are aware of the combat. In the event that one side has caught the other off guard, the GM determines what level of surprise occurs, 1, 2, or 3 which directly translates to the number of actions they get during the surprise round. Once that has been established combat proceeds as follows:
-
Those who are able to act in the surprise round roll initiative and act in order of highest to lowest. Once they have all acted normal combat begins.
-
Any remaining combatants who have not rolled initiative do so now.
-
Everyone proceeds to act in order of initiative, high to low.
-
Once everyone has taken a turn repeat step 3, this continues until combat is deemed over.
